Bosnia and Herzegovina striker Haris Tabakovic will travel to the World Cup despite a serious foot injury. The 31-year-old suffered a metatarsal fracture during Borussia Mönchengladbach’s 4-0 victory against TSG Hoffenheim last weekend.
Sky Germany first reported the setback. However, Tabakovic has reassured fans on social media. He posted a message on Instagram to confirm his tournament participation.
“I want to address the messages and rumours quickly. I am recovering well. Thank you for your concern. Yes, I will travel to the World Cup and remain part of the squad,” he stated.
The player added that his return date remains unclear. “We will see how rehabilitation progresses. But I will definitely be there with the team,” he explained.
Tabakovic now ends his temporary stay at Borussia-Park. He scored 15 goals in 35 appearances for the German club during the 2025/26 campaign. The forward will return to his parent club, TSG Hoffenheim, to complete his recovery.
