- However, the striker appears happy in Germany and may not want to move
FC Barcelona are searching for a new striker. The Catalan club need someone to replace Robert Lewandowski. They have now added Harry Kane to their list of targets.
The Spanish side originally wanted Julian Alvarez or Joao Pedro. Alvarez plays for Atletico Madrid. Pedro plays for Chelsea. Both clubs want more than €100m for their players. This makes the deals very difficult.
Kane offers a cheaper solution. The Bayern Munich star has a €65m release clause in his contract. This price fits Barcelona’s budget better.
The England captain has been in excellent form. He has found the net 58 times in 50 games this season. Kane will turn 33 this summer. However, Barcelona can look at Lewandowski as proof that older strikers can still succeed.
There is one big problem. Kane seems very happy in Munich. He has shown no signs that he wants to leave Bavaria. Barcelona must convince him to make the switch to Spain.
The transfer window opens soon. Barcelona hope to return to La Liga’s 1:1 financial rule. This would allow them to spend more money on new players.
