Cesc Fabregas has sent a clear warning to Inter Milan regarding their interest in Nico Paz. The Como head coach insists the talented midfielder will not move to the Nerazzurri under any circumstances.
Fabregas issued these firm comments after Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti spoke publicly about his admiration for the Argentine star. Zanetti, who shares the same nationality as Paz, had praised the player’s excellent performances in Serie A this term.
Speaking to reporters before his team’s next fixture, Fabregas showed clear annoyance at Zanetti’s remarks. He stated that the Inter director does not work for either Real Madrid or Como, and should therefore show more respect.
“Zanetti is an important figure in football and knows how the industry works. However, he does not work for Real Madrid or for Como. He must show respect,” Fabregas explained. “The only club that can decide Nico’s future is Real Madrid. I can confirm with certainty that Nico Paz will never play for Inter. His future holds only two options: he stays with us at Como, or he goes back to Real Madrid.”
The Spanish manager also explained that Real Madrid kept special rights when they sold Paz to Como last year. The La Liga giants can bring the player back to Santiago Bernabeu during the next two summer transfer windows.
Paz has become one of the most exciting young players in Italian football this season. The 20-year-old has been directly involved in 19 goals for his club, attracting attention from several top sides across Europe.
Fabregas also provided an update on Paz’s physical condition ahead of Como’s final league game. The player is currently recovering from a minor injury problem.
“We are checking if he can play on Sunday. He has earned the right to play because he has helped our team so much this year,” said Fabregas. “Footballers can recover quickly between 24 and 48 hours. Modern medical staff can work wonders now. We will make a final decision on match day.”
The Argentina international hopes to prove his fitness not just for Como, but also for his country’s national team. Argentina are preparing for upcoming international fixtures, and Paz wants to be part of the squad.
