Journalist Fernando Petrocelli reports that David Martínez will join 1.FC Köln this summer. The 20-year-old forward currently plays for Los Angeles FC in the United States.
The Bundesliga side expect to present the player in July. They plan to make the announcement official during the pre-season period.
Martínez will feature in his farewell match for the MLS club on Monday afternoon. LAFC face Seattle Sounders in that fixture.
The young talent still has a contract with the American team until December 2027. Therefore, Köln must pay a transfer fee to secure his signature. The exact amount remains undisclosed.
The left-footed dribbler was born in England. He moved to the United States in the summer of 2024 for €3.2 million.
Martínez usually operates on the right wing. However, he can also play on the left flank or through the centre. He has found the net nine times in 21 appearances for LAFC.
