Rasmus Hojlund has declared his happiness at making his stay in Naples permanent following his move from Manchester United. The Danish forward says he feels a strong connection with everyone at the club and wants to remain for many years.
The striker joined Napoli on an initial loan deal worth €6 million. This included a compulsory purchase clause of €44 million that became active when the club secured Champions League qualification. That target was achieved last week when they confirmed a top-four finish in Serie A.
Speaking to DAZN Italia, Hojlund said he enjoys excellent relationships with the fans, players, coaching staff and manager. He confirmed his desire to build a long-term future at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
However, uncertainty surrounds head coach Antonio Conte. Reports suggest the Italian tactician will leave after the final match against Udinese. The squad recently attended a barbecue at the Castel Volturno training ground, which many viewed as a farewell gathering.
Despite these rumours, Hojlund revealed that Conte has not spoken to the team about his future. The forward admitted the players know nothing official about the manager’s plans. Conte has hinted publicly that this could be his last game in charge after winning the Scudetto and Supercoppa Italiana during his two-year spell.
