German Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart have confirmed that Bilal El Khannouss has joined the team on a permanent basis. The Morocco international initially moved to the Mercedes-Benz Arena on a temporary loan from English side Leicester City.

The attacking midfielder has now signed a long-term agreement that binds him to the Baden-Württemberg outfit until the summer of 2028. This deal follows an impressive temporary spell during the recently concluded 2025-26 campaign.

El Khannouss featured 41 times across all competitions for Stuttgart last term. He netted nine goals and set up a further seven for his colleagues. These statistics convinced the club leadership to convert the arrangement into a full transfer.

His contributions at domestic level have also attracted national team recognition. The playmaker has secured selection for Morocco’s travelling party to the 2026 World Cup finals in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Fabian Wohlgemuth, the sporting director at Stuttgart, welcomed the permanent capture. He stated that the footballer delivered strong performances in every competition throughout the previous season. Wohlgemuth also pointed to the player’s central role within the Moroccan national setup. He remarked that the youngster already shows exceptional quality on the pitch while retaining significant room for development. The club remains confident that the player has not yet reached his peak.
