Victor Eletu looks likely to end his stay at AC Milan this summer. The 21-year-old Nigeria youth international wants to play regular senior football.
The defensive midfielder trained with the first team during pre-season friendlies. However, he has never featured in a competitive match for the Serie A giants. At present, he only plays for the club’s reserve side.
Several French clubs are keen to sign him. Teams in Ligue 2 are showing the strongest interest. AS Saint-Étienne, EA Guingamp, Pau FC, Grenoble Foot, USL Dunkerque and AS Nancy Lorraine have all asked about his availability.
Saint-Étienne could offer top-flight football next season. They face OGC Nice in a relegation playoff that will decide their divisional status. This factor might influence Eletu’s choice of destination.
The midfielder joined the Milan academy as a teenager. He now believes a move away is necessary to kick-start his professional career.
