Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are both watching Crystal Palace defender Jaydee Canvot closely, according to reports from French newspaper L’Équipe. The 19-year-old centre-back has impressed the European giants after a strong first year in English football.

The French youth international only moved to Selhurst Park last summer from his first club, Toulouse. Despite his age, he has become a key player in the first team. He has played 37 matches across all competitions this season.

Canvot is likely to start on Wednesday evening when Crystal Palace face Rayo Vallecano in the UEFA Europa Conference League final. The south London club are searching for their first major European trophy.

Barcelona see the Frenchman as a possible target as they look to improve their defence. However, they may face competition from Paris Saint-Germain. The French champions have watched Canvot since he left Toulouse. His recent performances have increased their interest. Neither club has made an official offer yet.

Crystal Palace want to keep the defender. His contract runs until 2029. The club is already dealing with defensive changes after selling captain Marc Guehi in January. Fellow French defender Maxence Lacroix may also leave this summer. The Premier League side does not want to lose more players in defence.
