Stade Rennais FC have confirmed the arrival of French midfielder Adrien Thomasson. The 32-year-old has agreed to a three-year contract with the Breton club.
The player became available on a free transfer after his deal with RC Lens ended. Several clubs wanted to sign him during this window.
Thomasson enjoyed an excellent season with Lens. He played a key role as they won their first-ever Coupe de France trophy. He has also played for FC Nantes and RC Strasbourg Alsace earlier in his career.
He will join familiar faces at the club. Goalkeeper Brice Samba, defender Przemysław Frankowski and midfielder Seko Fofana all moved from Lens to Rennes earlier. He will also work under manager Franck Haise again. Haise also made the switch from Lens to Rennes.
The new contract runs until 2027. Rennes will compete in the UEFA Europa League group stages this coming season.
