France international Ibrahima Konaté is preparing to depart Liverpool FC at the end of the current season. The 27-year-old will become a free agent when his five-year agreement expires this summer.
The defender joined the Reds from RB Leipzig. He has held discussions with the club for over 12 months. However, the two parties could not finalise a new deal.
Last month, the centre-back indicated he might remain on Merseyside. He stated there was a strong possibility of extending his stay. Unfortunately, those plans have now collapsed.
Reports indicate that Konaté has not selected his next destination. Many top clubs are expected to show interest in signing him without paying a transfer fee.
The Frenchman has made 183 appearances for the club. During his time at Anfield, he won the Premier League title this year, the FA Cup in 2022, and two Carabao Cups.
The player will travel to Clairefontaine this Friday. He will meet the France squad for their training camp ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
