Italian giants Inter Milan are dragging their feet over a deal to sign England international Curtis Jones. The Serie A side offered €20 million for the midfielder. However, Liverpool want €30 million before they will allow him to leave.

The two clubs are €10 million apart in their valuations. Inter believed the price would drop because Jones has only 12 months left on his deal. They had already tried to sign him during the January window. Despite the short time left on his contract, Liverpool are refusing to back down on their demands. They also want a percentage of any future transfer fee written into the agreement.

Jones currently prefers a move to Milan over joining Aston Villa. Inter hope this will push the 25-year-old to pressure his club into accepting a lower offer. They are unwilling to pay €30 million for a player who could leave for free next summer.

The midfielder came through the Liverpool youth academy. This means any transfer fee would count as pure profit for the Premier League side. This season, Jones has made 49 appearances for the Reds. He has scored three goals and provided three assists for his team-mates.
