- Marco Reus predicts Jürgen Klopp will coach Germany in the future
- Klopp currently serves as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer with a contract until 2029
- The 58-year-old has refused to rule out a complete return to the dugout
Marco Reus is certain that Jürgen Klopp will one day take charge of the German national team. The former Borussia Dortmund winger, who enjoyed great success under Klopp at Signal Iduna Park, believes his old boss has the perfect style for the role.
Reus told the media that “Kloppo” possesses the ideal abilities to lead Germany. He stated clearly that he expects this to happen eventually, even though the timing remains uncertain.
Klopp stepped away from Liverpool at the end of last season. In January 2025, he began a new chapter as Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull. He signed a contract that keeps him in this position until 2029. The 58-year-old has repeatedly said he feels very happy with his current responsibilities.
Despite this, rumours linking him to the Germany job refuse to disappear. In an interview with Bulinews.com earlier this year, Klopp admitted he cannot promise he will stay away from coaching forever. He explained that he does not know how he will feel in two or three years. In five years, he will be 63, which he insists is not too old for management.
At present, Klopp says he does not want to return to the touchline. However, he noted that his perspective has shifted. He no longer needs to stand in the centre of the pitch celebrating trophies. He has enjoyed that life already, but if the desire returns, he will consider coaching again.
