The German Football Association has opened negotiations with Jürgen Klopp in New York regarding the national team manager position. Final discussions with his current employer Red Bull are scheduled for early next week.

DFB vice-president Hans-Joachim Watzke says appointing Jürgen Klopp as Germany head coach is not yet finalised, though he rates the chances above 50 per cent. Rudi Völler is expected to remain as sporting director after Klopp voiced his support.
