FC Bayern Munich have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign young midfielder Kennet Eichhorn from Hertha BSC. According to Sport1, the German champions have decided not to pursue the 16-year-old after looking closely at the possible deal.
The reigning Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal winners decided that the financial costs do not meet their expectations. There are also sporting doubts about whether the teenager is ready for top-level football.
Max Eberl, the club’s sporting director, had previously supported the move strongly. However, he now agrees with the club’s choice to end their interest in the player from Berlin.
This news comes as a major boost for Liverpool FC. The Premier League side are chasing the midfielder and now face less competition from one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
