Bayern Munich have reinforced their dominance across the Bundesliga after Vincent Kompany and Michael Olise claimed the top prizes at the annual VDV awards. The German professional footballers’ union honoured the Belgian manager for his outstanding work on the touchline this campaign.

Olise, the French international winger, captured the Player of the Season accolade with an overwhelming 71.8 percent of the vote. His teammate Harry Kane finished as the runner-up, earning support from 23.9 percent of the professional players who took part in the ballot.

In the category for young talent, RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande came out on top with 30.6 percent of votes. The Ivorian defender edged past Lennart Karl, who received 20.7 percent, while 1.FC Köln’s Said El Mala secured third place with 17.1 percent.

The players’ association also revealed their ideal eleven for the campaign. Manuel Neuer took the goalkeeper position. The back line featured Jonathan Tah, Dayot Upamecano and Nico Schlotterbeck. Konrad Laimer, Joshua Kimmich and Alejandro Grimaldo formed the midfield unit. In attack, the selectors chose Michael Olise, Luis Díaz, Deniz Undav and Harry Kane, with Kane attracting the highest approval rating at 93.4 percent.
