TSG Hoffenheim have completed the capture of Austria star Patrick Wimmer from VfL Wolfsburg. The 25-year-old has signed a lengthy contract with the Kraichgau-based club.
Wimmer arrives after Wolfsburg dropped to the second tier. He had several proposals from teams at home and abroad, but he chose to stay in the Bundesliga.
The winger will give head coach Christian Ilzer more choice in attack. He can play in various positions across the front line and is known for his energetic style.
Sporting director Paul Pajduch welcomed the new recruit. He stated that Wimmer’s power and defensive work rate make him ideal for the team’s system. Pajduch added that the player will help the squad grow while taking the next step in his own career.
