Eintracht Frankfurt are in discussions to capture French teenager Djylian N’Guessan. The Bundesliga club wants to bring the 17-year-old forward to Germany before his contract expires next summer.

N’Guessan currently plays for AS Saint-Étienne. The French side suffered relegation from Ligue 1 last year. They hoped to bounce back immediately this season. However, they failed to secure promotion. Now the club faces financial pressure. Several players could leave during this transfer window.

Earlier this year, Chelsea tried to buy the young striker. The London club offered €8 million in January. Saint-Étienne rejected this proposal. At that time, the club wanted to keep their best players. They needed a strong squad to fight for promotion back to the top flight.

Despite the high interest, N’Guessan played only five matches for the senior team last season. He scored one goal during these limited appearances. However, he remains a highly rated prospect in French football circles.

The forward has represented France at multiple youth levels. He has featured for the U20 side. He also enjoyed a prolific spell with the U17 and U16 national teams.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Frankfurt are now leading the chase. The German club hopes to secure a deal for the youngster. His contract with Saint-Étienne runs until 2025.
