Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has ended rumors about Kylian Mbappé leaving the club. He says the French striker will stay at the Bernabéu. Pérez made these comments while campaigning for re-election. Voting takes place on Sunday.
Mbappé joined Real Madrid two summers ago without a transfer fee from Paris Saint-Germain. The move has produced mixed results. The 27-year-old France captain has scored many goals. He netted 42 times in 44 games last season. Overall, he has 86 goals in 103 matches. However, Real Madrid have not won any big trophies since he arrived.
In contrast, PSG have performed better without him. Coach Luis Enrique has built a stronger team. The Paris club has won the Champions League in both seasons since Mbappé departed.
