Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Scottish international Andy Robertson after his contract with Liverpool expired. The experienced left-back will officially begin his career in North London when the summer transfer window opens on the first of July.

The North London outfit first attempted to secure the defender’s services during the winter market under previous management. However, that proposed agreement fell through after Liverpool failed to terminate Kostas Tsimikas’s temporary spell with AS Roma.

Current manager Roberto De Zerbi expressed his satisfaction with capturing the 32-year-old. The Italian praised Robertson’s technical abilities and stated that the defender’s winning mentality would prove invaluable both on the training ground and during matches.

Robertson’s eight-year spell on Merseyside brought remarkable success. Since arriving from Hull City in 2017, he featured in 378 matches and lifted seven major trophies, including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.

The defender continues to lead his national side and will captain Scotland at the upcoming World Cup finals. Sporting Director Johan Lange noted that the signing aligns with the club’s ambitions to return to silverware contention, highlighting the player’s professionalism and character as key assets for the squad’s development.
