Italian defender Francesco Acerbi is preparing to depart Inter Milan at the end of the season. His current deal finishes on 30 June, which means he will become a free agent on 1 July. Several teams in Italy are now monitoring his situation.

Acerbi turned 38 years old in February. Despite his age, he wishes to continue playing professional football instead of retiring. Inter have decided not to offer him an extension, so he will search for a new club.

Newly-promoted Monza have shown strong interest in adding Acerbi to their squad. The club believes his experience would strengthen their defence for the upcoming campaign.

Genoa also want to secure his services. Their manager, Daniele De Rossi, thinks the veteran could provide valuable leadership at the back. The Ligurian side hopes to complete an inexpensive deal without paying a transfer fee.

Sources suggest the Saudi Pro League might present an offer as well. However, no specific clubs from the Middle East have been identified in current reports.

Inter are making further changes to their playing staff. Matteo Darmian will also exit when his contract ends this summer. In contrast, defender Stefan De Vrij has reportedly received a proposal for a new agreement to stay at the San Siro.
