Napoli have unveiled their 2026/27 away kit, celebrating the deep historical connection between the Italian city and Argentina. The jersey, named Nápoles, uses the Spanish term for Neapolitan and features design elements that honour the enduring cultural bond between the two nations.
Design inspired by dual heritage
The kit is predominantly white with thin light blue stripes, colours that evoke both the club’s traditional palette and the Argentine national team. A standout detail is the embossed outline of the Gulf of Naples, which appears behind the club’s N badge. The word Partenopei—the historic name for the people of Naples—sits on the back of the collar.
The club filmed the kit’s advertising campaign on the streets of Buenos Aires, a city where many residents trace their roots back to Italy and specifically to Naples. This connection reached its most famous peak when Argentine icon Diego Armando Maradona played for Napoli, leaving a legacy so profound that the stadium was renamed in his honour shortly after his death.
Serie A’s Argentine influence
Napoli are part of a growing trend in Italian football that recognises the deep ties between Serie A clubs and Argentine football. Genoa previously dedicated a fourth kit to Boca Juniors, while Torino’s current away jersey represents a union between their traditional design and that of River Plate.
The Nápoles kit will serve as Napoli’s away strip for the 2026/27 campaign, continuing the club’s tradition of embracing its South American heritage while competing in Serie A.
