The Italian Football Federation has finalised the venues and kick-off times for the Azzurri’s upcoming UEFA Nations League campaign, confirming six Group A fixtures against Belgium, Turkey and France between September and November.
Italy will open their account at home to Belgium on September 25 at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico, kicking off at 19:45 BST. Three days later, they travel to the Ataturk Spor Kompleksi in Bursa to face Turkey on September 28.
The Azzurri then visit Paris on October 2 for a rematch against France, who eliminated them from the 2024 tournament. Bologna’s Stadio Renato Dall’Ara will host the reverse fixture against Turkey on October 5, giving Italy a brief return to home soil before the final international break.
San Siro Challenge
One of the most significant fixtures sees Italy host France at San Siro in Milan on November 12. The match offers a chance to repeat their 3-1 victory over Les Bleus from 2024, though the venue carries recent bad memories for the national team.
Italy had previously gone 96 years unbeaten at the Stadio Meazza, but have since suffered three consecutive defeats there against Norway, Germany and France. The Azzurri will hope to restore their dominance at the stadium before concluding their group stage campaign in Brussels against Belgium on November 15.
Coaching Situation
While the schedule is now set, the managerial position remains vacant. Andrea Pirlo has emerged as the frontrunner to take charge after Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola ruled himself out of contention. The former Juventus midfielder would inherit a squad featuring World Cup semi-finalists France and a Belgium side in transition.
All six Group A fixtures will kick off at 19:45 local time. Italy will play three matches at home and three away as they bid to advance from a challenging section featuring two of Europe’s traditional powers.
