Bradley Barcola has reportedly turned down a transfer offer from Chelsea, choosing instead to prioritise a move to Liverpool as he seeks a fresh start away from Paris Saint-Germain. The 23-year-old France international has decided against extending his contract with the Ligue 1 champions, creating significant uncertainty over his future despite having three years remaining on his current deal.
According to reports, Barcola has postponed negotiations over new terms with PSG, effectively opening the door to a summer departure. The French winger, who arrived at the Parc des Princes from Olympique Lyonnais in the summer of 2023, appears ready to move on after winning domestic titles in the capital.
Valuation gap complicates exit
Sources differ on the exact fee required to secure Barcola’s signature. While some reports indicate PSG are demanding €120 million, others suggest the French club value him at €150 million and are reluctant to sanction any sale this summer. This valuation would place him among the most expensive players in the transfer market.
Arsenal maintain an interest in the winger but are unwilling to meet the higher asking price. The Gunners value Barcola at approximately €90 million, creating a €30 million gap with PSG’s demands that currently prevents serious negotiation. With the North London club unwilling to exceed their valuation for a wide attacker this summer, a deal appears unlikely unless the Parisians lower their expectations.
Despite earning 28 senior caps for France and scoring six goals at international level, Barcola has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under Luis Enrique. This potential wage increase, combined with the promise of more regular first-team football, makes the Bundesliga champions an attractive proposition should the opportunity arise.
