Milan have confirmed their travelling party for Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Celtic at Celtic Park, though the squad will be without Christopher Nkunku, Pervis Estupinan and Pietro Terracciano.
The Serie A side fly to Glasgow for their first competitive warm-up fixture of the summer, kicking off at 15:00 BST (16:00 CEST). Head coach Ruben Amorim has opted to leave several senior figures behind at Milanello.
Injuries and late returns
Nkunku, the French forward, has been ruled out with a minor muscle problem resulting from a bruised thigh. The club had initially considered him for a starting role, but the knock prevents his involvement.
Terracciano, the goalkeeper, is also unavailable after suffering a hip injury. Meanwhile, Estupinan has only just rejoined training following his World Cup commitments and will remain in Italy to build match fitness. The Ecuadorian defender has been linked with a move to Aston Villa, though Amorim reportedly wishes to assess him in training before any decision is finalised.
Travelling squad
Amorim has selected a blend of experienced internationals and academy prospects for the trip to Scotland. Senior figures including Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Samuel Chukwueze, Yunus Musah, Strahinja Pavlović and Filip Kostić are included.
Youth players such as Francesco Camarda, Simone Borsani and Alejandro Jiménez (Athekame) are also in the group, offering the manager an opportunity to evaluate emerging talent during the early stages of pre-season.
Tour schedule
The Celtic fixture marks the beginning of an intensive summer tour. After Saturday’s match, Milan will travel to Australia for a derby against Inter in Sydney on August 5.
They then head to Jakarta to face Chelsea on August 8, before concluding their pre-season preparations against Manchester United in Poland on August 15. These fixtures will serve as the final tests before the Serie A campaign begins.
