The 28-year-old centre-back has struggled to establish himself at Besiktas, prompting interest from several German clubs including Schalke 04 and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Uduokhai has started only 15 league matches for the Istanbul side during the 2025/26 campaign. With his contract entering its final year, Besiktas have indicated they are willing to negotiate a transfer rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer. The Turkish club paid €5 million to sign him permanently from Augsburg after an initial loan arrangement, but they now face a significant loss on that investment given his current valuation of €3.5 million.
The defender is no stranger to German football, having made 150 Bundesliga appearances for Wolfsburg and Augsburg. His experience in the league makes him an attractive prospect for clubs seeking defensive reinforcements without paying premium fees.
Internationally, Uduokhai represented Germany at various youth levels and received a senior call-up from Joachim Löw in 2020, though he did not earn a full cap. His physical presence—he stands 1.93 metres tall—has previously drawn praise, but he has found regular minutes hard to come by in Turkey.
Besiktas are expected to overhaul their squad this summer, with Karim Coulibaly and Julian Malatini also facing potential exits. At Werder Bremen, manager Daniel Thioune has yet to confirm whether he will deploy a back-three system next season, which could influence whether the club pushes ahead with a bid for the German defender.
A return to Germany would offer Uduokhai the chance to revive his career in a familiar environment.
