Barcola has informed PSG that he will not extend his contract, which expires in 2028. His decision stems from growing frustration over his exclusion from critical fixtures, notably Luis Enrique’s starting line-up for the past two UEFA Champions League finals.
Statistics suggest the winger’s grievances centre on prestige rather than quantity. Although he accumulated more minutes than attacking colleagues Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé during the campaign, he perceives himself as the fourth option in a three-man forward line.
