Aston Villa have submitted a proposal to sign Endrick on loan from Real Madrid, challenging Roma’s status as favourites to land the Brazil forward. The Italian side had previously positioned themselves as front-runners, confident that Champions League football and guaranteed playing time would sway the decision in their favour.
However, Spanish publication Diario AS reports that Villa have entered the race, offering serious competition for the teenager’s signature. The development complicates Roma’s efforts to secure a season-long move, with Real Madrid yet to approve any departure.
Financial arrangements
Real Madrid paid €35 million to sign Endrick from Palmeiras two years ago, with additional bonuses potentially taking the total fee to €60 million. The striker currently earns €5 million per season, a figure that would prove prohibitive for prospective loan clubs without assistance.
Reports indicate that Madrid are prepared to cover part of Endrick’s wages during any temporary arrangement. Without this contribution, a loan would be financially unfeasible for either Roma or Aston Villa.
Lyon spell and international ambitions
Endrick enjoyed a productive spell at Olympique Lyonnais, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in just 21 appearances. The publication suggests this loan proved crucial in earning the forward a place in the 2026 World Cup squad under Carlo Ancelotti.
The player is reportedly open to another temporary departure to ensure regular first-team football ahead of the tournament. Roma had hoped their project would mirror the situation of Franco Mastantuono, the Real Madrid talent who joined Fiorentina on loan to gain experience.
Neither club has finalised an agreement with Madrid, leaving the Brazil international’s immediate future unresolved.
