Paris Saint-Germain have opened preliminary discussions with the entourage of RC Strasbourg Alsace defender Guéla Doué regarding a potential move to the Parc des Princes. The talks remain at an early stage, but the Ligue 1 champions have identified the 23-year-old as a viable option to bolster their defensive ranks ahead of the new campaign.
The Ivory Coast international is currently under contract with Strasbourg until 2029, giving the Alsatian club a strong negotiating position. He is valued at approximately €40 million, a substantial figure that reflects both his current ability and long-term potential.
Versatile Defensive Profile
Doué offers tactical flexibility that appeals to potential suitors across Europe. He is capable of operating at right-back and in central defence, providing valuable cover across the backline. During the previous campaign, he made 34 appearances in all competitions for Strasbourg, contributing two goals and seven assists. Eight of those outings came in the Conference League.
His consistent performances have established him as one of the promising defenders in the French top flight. The ability to deploy him in multiple positions makes him an attractive proposition for clubs seeking to strengthen their squad depth without acquiring several specialist players.
Competition from Leverkusen
PSG face significant competition for Doué’s signature. Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly made the Ivorian their top priority as they seek to reinforce their right flank. The Bundesliga champions view him as a key target to improve their defensive options and maintain their domestic dominance.
Should Doué opt for a transfer to Paris, he would be reunited with his brother Désiré. The younger Doué sibling joined the French champions during the summer of 2024, adding a familial element to any potential negotiation between the parties.
