Inter Milan have officially announced their squad for the 2026-27 Champions League campaign, confirming the inclusion of all their summer signings. New arrivals John Stones, Curtis Jones, Aleksandar Stankovic, and Djed Spence are all part of the team registered for Europe’s premier club competition.

Clubs participating in UEFA competitions were required to submit their squad lists for the league phase by Wednesday, September 2, following the closure of the summer transfer window in most European nations.

Squad Composition and UEFA Rules

UEFA regulations permit teams to name a maximum of 25 players on their ‘List A’. This list must include at least two goalkeepers and eight ‘locally-trained players’. Locally-trained players are defined as those who have been based in the country for a minimum of three uninterrupted years between the ages of 15 and 21.

Inter have opted to name 23 players on their List A, rather than the maximum 25. This decision was made because the club currently has only seven locally-trained players on List A, one short of the required eight. In such instances, the overall squad limit is reduced accordingly.

The seven locally-trained players included in Inter’s List A are goalkeepers Ivan Provedel and Raffaele Di Gennaro, defenders Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco, midfielders Mattia Marello and Nicolo Barella, and Poland international Piotr Zielinski. Zielinski qualifies as locally-trained due to his long tenure in Italy, having joined Udinese at the age of 16 and remaining based in the country ever since.

Youth Prospects on List B

In addition to List A, clubs can name an unlimited number of players on their ‘List B’. This list is typically reserved for youth-team players who meet specific criteria: they must have been born on or after January 1, 2005, and have played for the club for an uninterrupted period of at least two years.

Inter have confirmed that 21-year-old Italy international Pio Esposito, born on June 28, 2005, has been included on List B. Aleksandar Stankovic, who spent his entire youth career with the Nerazzurri and also falls within the age limit, has also been named on List B.

The full List A squad registered by Inter includes:

  • Goalkeepers: Josep Martinez, Raffaele Di Gennaro, Ivan Provedel
  • Defenders: John Stones, Manuel Akanji, Benjamin Pavard, Carlos Augusto, Yann-Aurel Bisseck, Federico Dimarco, Mattia Marello, Alessandro Bastoni, Djed Spence
  • Midfielders: Piotr Zielinski, Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Andy Diouf, Hakan Calhanoglu, Curtis Jones, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Nicolo Barella
