Lens secure versatile winger
RC Lens have completed the loan signing of Servette FC winger Junior Kadile, with an option to make the move permanent. Both clubs confirmed the agreement, which includes a €6 million buy clause. The 23-year-old has been handed the No. 28 shirt and becomes the seventh new arrival at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis this summer.
The Frenchman joins at a time when Lens have been actively restructuring their wide attacking positions. The departure of Allan Saint-Maximin left a gap in the squad, while the club also wanted additional competition for Abdallah Sima and Florian Thauvin. Kadile’s capture addresses both requirements and adds fresh energy to the flanks. The signing gives Lens added flexibility in the final third as they look to maintain their established status in the French top flight.
Servette standout joins Sang et Or
Kadile enjoyed a productive spell in Switzerland. In 40 outings for Servette, the Rennes Academy graduate found the net 12 times and laid on 17 assists. Those figures attracted interest from several clubs across the continent before Lens secured his signature.
Lens sporting director Jean-Louis Leca highlighted the winger’s blend of individual skill and collective awareness. “He’s a winger who can drive forward and unbalance defenses, capable of creating scoring opportunities for himself,” Leca said. “He’s also a true team player, skillful in the penalty area, who knows how to put his teammates in the best positions to score.”
Debut could come this weekend
Kadile may not have to wait long for his first minutes in the famous blood-and-gold shirt. He is eligible to face FC Lorient on Saturday and could make his debut in that fixture, giving supporters an early glimpse of what he offers.
The move adds further depth to a Lens side that has been one of the busier clubs in the transfer market this window. Should the 23-year-old settle quickly into Ligue 1 and replicate his Swiss Super League productivity, the Artois outfit may look to trigger their purchase clause and secure his services on a long-term basis.
