Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has provided crucial updates on the fitness of key attackers Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala, ahead of their Champions League encounter with Bodø/Glimt.

Gnabry’s Anticipated Return

Serge Gnabry is nearing a return to full fitness after recovering from an adductor injury he sustained in April. The experienced forward has rejoined team training, and a late decision will be made regarding his involvement in the upcoming Champions League clash against Bodø/Glimt.

Coach Kompany emphasised the importance of Gnabry feeling completely ready before making his comeback. “With Serge Gnabry, we have to see and speak after training – there’s a possibility he could be involved. We want to be sure that he feels his best, though,” Kompany stated. He added that the club’s aim is for Gnabry to regain the impressive form he displayed last season, highlighting his significant qualities and the competition he brings to the squad.

Musiala’s Measured Comeback

Meanwhile, Jamal Musiala made his return to action off the bench in Bayern’s recent 0-0 draw against Schalke 04. The young German international had been sidelined after suffering two collapses caused by absence seizures, linked to a neurological condition, during the pre-season period.

Kompany confirmed that Musiala is still being carefully managed despite his return to the pitch. “Jamal Musiala has played some minutes now but is still being built up. He’s felt good since being back training with the team,” Kompany explained, stressing the need for patience in his recovery process. The club is working to bring him back to full normality, acknowledging that it will take time.

The potential return of Gnabry and the continued integration of Musiala will offer a significant boost to Bayern Munich’s attacking options as they navigate their Champions League campaign.
