Olympique de Marseille are hoping to see the return of key midfielders Geoffrey Kondogbia and Tochukwu Nnadi during the ongoing international break. Both players have been sidelined since sustaining injuries in the club’s defeat to AS Monaco at the end of August.

Kondogbia’s Muscular Issue

Geoffrey Kondogbia, a significant presence in Marseille’s midfield, was forced off in the second half of the 2-0 loss to Monaco. His injury has been identified as a muscular issue. The club’s medical staff will be closely monitoring his recovery with the aim of having him available for selection soon.

Nnadi’s Serious Knee Injury

Tochukwu Nnadi, who entered the Monaco match as a substitute, also did not complete the game. He was withdrawn due to what was described as a serious knee injury, with initial concerns suggesting a potential ACL issue. Despite the severity and associated risks, Nnadi reportedly opted against undergoing surgery. This decision was made with the intention of assisting his team, which has faced challenges with squad depth.

The club’s hope is that Nnadi’s recovery path, without surgical intervention, will still allow him to rejoin the squad during the international hiatus.

Looking Ahead to Troyes Clash

The potential return of both Kondogbia and Nnadi would provide a timely boost for Olympique de Marseille. The team is scheduled to resume competitive action after the international break, with their next fixture set for 11th October against ESTAC Troyes. Their availability could be crucial as Marseille navigates its upcoming schedule.
