VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß has expressed strong confidence that young defender Finn Jeltsch will make his senior Germany debut in the near future, despite the 20-year-old remaining an unused substitute during the recent UEFA Nations League fixtures.
Hoeneß Predicts Inevitable Debut
Jeltsch, who is 20, was included in Germany’s squad for the recent international break. While he did not feature in either of the UEFA Nations League games, Hoeneß is certain that it is only a matter of time before the centre-back earns his first senior cap.
“Of course, Finn would have liked to make his debut. But it’s only a matter of time before that happens,” Hoeneß told reporters. The Stuttgart coach also shared Jeltsch’s positive experience with the national team setup, adding, “He told us that he had an incredible amount of fun, that there was great energy within the team and that he enjoyed being part of it.”
Rising Star at Stuttgart
Jeltsch’s call-up to the national squad comes on the back of impressive performances for VfB Stuttgart. He has established himself as a regular starter in the club’s defence, a testament to his rapid development and consistent form. His strong displays have not gone unnoticed, with reports indicating interest from several top European clubs.
Bright Future Ahead
Hoeneß further underlined his belief in Jeltsch’s potential, stating, “Finn has a bright future ahead of him. He is very eager to learn. If he maintains that attitude, he will only get better, even though he is already performing at a very good level.”
This endorsement from his club coach suggests that while Jeltsch’s senior international debut may not have happened yet, it is widely anticipated given his current trajectory and the faith placed in him by both his club and the national team selectors.
