Lazio manager Gennaro Gattuso has officially confirmed his 24-player squad for the highly anticipated Serie A clash against Juventus. The announcement sees the return of defender Luca Pellegrini to the team sheet.
Lazio Squad Confirmed
Pellegrini’s inclusion marks his return to the squad, having previously only featured in the first round of the Coppa Italia this season. The full squad list released by Lazio includes:
- Goalkeepers: Christos Mandas, Edoardo Motta, Davide Renzetti
- Defenders: Diogo Leite, Luca Pellegrini, Danilho Doekhi, Floriani Mussolini, Nuno Tavares, Alfonso Pedraza, Oliver Provstgaard, Manuel Lazzari, Josip Sutalo
- Midfielders: Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Davide Frattesi, Reda Belahyane, Kenneth Taylor, Adrian Przyborek, Danilo Cataldi, Valerio Farcomeni
- Forwards: Andrea Pinamonti, Mattia Zaccagni, Gustav Isaksen, Tijjani Noslin, Federico Serra
Team News and Tactical Outlook
Gattuso, who replaced Luciano Spalletti as Italy’s national team coach last year, is not expected to make significant changes to his recent winning side. However, there are suggestions that Josip Sutalo could start at centre-back, potentially replacing Danilho Doekhi.
Lazio will be looking for a crucial three points away from home against Juventus. A victory would see them draw level with Inter at the top of the Serie A standings, intensifying the early stages of the title race.
Competition Impact
Juventus, meanwhile, enter the fixture following a mixed run of results. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Cagliari in their last Serie A outing. However, the Bianconeri secured a 2-1 away victory against Celta Vigo in the Europa League recently, which may boost their confidence.
The Serie A encounter is scheduled for kick-off at 19:45 BST.
