The club had initially set their sights on Marc Cucurella. However, Chelsea’s valuation of the Spaniard proved too costly for the La Liga side. This has prompted Deco and his recruitment team to search for more affordable solutions across Europe.
The Monaco star has emerged as a strong candidate. Representatives of the Brazilian international have already engaged in talks with Barcelona’s hierarchy. The Ligue 1 club value the defender at approximately €15 million and are open to negotiations despite his contract running until 2027.
The 28-year-old has been a regular starter this campaign, featuring from the beginning in 29 of his 34 appearances across all competitions. He has contributed two assists during the current season and continues to impress at the Stade Louis II.
On the international stage, Henrique has earned five caps for the Brazil national team. With the World Cup set to take place in the United States, national team coach Carlo Ancelotti is expected to include the versatile defender in his squad for the tournament.
