Afonso Moreira is set to stay at Olympique Lyonnais for the long term. The young wide player will extend his current agreement by one year.

French newspaper L’Équipe reports that the new contract will expire in 2030. The player has become one of the most exciting talents in Ligue 1 since joining from Sporting CP last summer.

Moreira moved to Lyon for only €2 million. He replaced Malick Fofana during the autumn when the winger got injured. Since then, he has kept his place in Paulo Fonseca’s starting eleven.

The star has played 35 matches this term. He has been directly involved in 19 goals, scoring eight times and creating 11 more.

Many top clubs across Europe have watched him closely. However, the Portugal youth international looks set to reject their offers and continue his career in France.
