A major new study reveals Fiorentina manages money better than any other Italian club. The Florence-based team leads Serie A with a 72% equity ratio. This places them ahead of Atalanta and Napoli in the financial stability rankings.

Researchers from AI company PLAIER and St. Gallen University carried out the work. They examined 226 clubs across 14 leagues during the 2024-25 campaign. The team looked at squad quality, director decisions, coaching success and financial health.

The report explains how clubs achieve success and what it costs. Fiorentina sits at the top for money management. Atalanta takes second place, while champions Napoli secure third spot.

Como surprised many by topping the efficiency charts for sporting departments. They gained the strongest results compared to their available resources. League winners Napoli rank third for efficiency, but runners-up Inter Milan only manage 14th place.

Parma sits at the bottom of the domestic rankings. They failed to turn their spending into good results on the pitch. The club survived relegation last term under Cristian Chivu on the final day. This season, Carlos Cuesta helped them stay up with games remaining.

Gian Piero Gasperini received special praise for his previous work at Atalanta. The study names him as the coach most likely to pick the right players and tactics during the 2024-25 season. The Italian has since taken charge at AS Roma. Monza managers Alessandro Nesta and Salvatore Bocchetti scored lowest for team selection. AC Milan also performed poorly under Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceição, taking second-worst spot.

Cesc Fabregas at Como ranks third from the bottom for coaching efficiency.
