Police Sacco Stadium erupted in celebration on Sunday afternoon as Kenya Police Bullets FC cemented their status as the dominant force in Kenyan women’s football. The law enforcement outfit captured an unprecedented third consecutive FKF Women’s Premier League title following a narrow 1-0 victory against Madira Soccer Assassins.

The triumph marks a historic three-peat for the champions, who have now defended their crown across three separate campaigns. This latest success came on the final day of the 2025/2026 season, leaving no room for mathematical errors and confirming their superiority over closest challengers Ulinzi Starlets, who finished second.

The breakthrough arrived through familiar attacking partnership. League top scorer and assist queen Margaret “Maggy” Kunihira turned provider, splitting the Assassins’ defence with a perfectly weighted pass. Rebecca Okwaro met the delivery with composure, slotting home the winner to spark wild scenes among the home supporters.

The victory holds particular significance for Head Coach David Vijago. The tactician joined the club at the start of this campaign from Kibera Soccer and has delivered the ultimate prize in his first season in charge. “The season has been good, we thank God,” Vijago reflected. “We haven’t had bad injuries, but all in all, we thank God. Our prayer was for us to win the league and that is exactly what we did.”

Football Kenya Federation President Hussein Mohammed led the post-match coronation alongside Vice President Mariga. The pair presented the winner’s medals and official WPL trophy to the jubilant squad. Mohammed praised the rising standards of the women’s game and promised enhanced structures and greater investment ahead of the next season.

With domestic honours secured, the Bullets now shift focus to continental competition. Coach Vijago and his squad will begin intensive preparations for the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers later this year, where they aim to represent Kenya against Africa’s finest clubs.
