Nairobi, Kenya – Gor Mahia FC have announced a major cash incentive for their squad. The club will pay Ksh 5 million if the team wins this season’s FKF Premier League title.

Club chairman Ambrose Rachier confirmed the reward during a recent meeting with players and coaches. The money will be divided between the playing squad and the technical bench.

“The chairman promised this bonus to motivate the team during the final stretch,” a club statement revealed. “Everyone is working hard to bring the trophy home.”

The incentive scheme includes improved match bonuses. Players now receive Ksh 10,000 for each victory. This is double the previous amount of Ksh 5,000. The new rate has applied for the last six matches.

Gor Mahia currently sit at the top of the table with 68 points. Their closest rivals, AFC Leopards, trail by four points. The 21-time champions can secure their 22nd title this weekend if they defeat Mara Sugar.

Club officials believe the financial rewards will boost team morale. “These incentives show our commitment to the players,” the statement added. “We want them fully focused on crossing the finish line.”

The FKF Premier League winners will also receive Ksh 15 million from sponsors SportPesa. However, it remains unclear whether the players will share in this separate prize fund.
