Bayern Munich want to sign John Stones without paying a transfer fee. The Manchester City defender’s contract ends this summer.
The 31-year-old centre-back can leave the Etihad Stadium for free. He has played for the Premier League side since 2016.
Vincent Kompany is now the manager at Bayern. He played with Stones at Manchester City. The pair could work together again in Germany.
Harry Kane also plays for the Bundesliga club. He is Stones’ teammate in the England national squad. The defender could join him in Munich.
Several clubs want to sign the experienced centre-back. However, Bayern believe they hold a strong position to complete the deal.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirms Bayern are one of the clubs offered the player. The Italian journalist reports strong interest from the German champions.
