Bayern Munich have sent a clear message to Real Madrid regarding the future of winger Michael Olise. The German club won the DFB Pokal final against Stuttgart on Saturday at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
Jose Mourinho was present at the stadium. He will become the new Real Madrid manager this summer. His appearance led to rumours that he was watching Olise for his future club.
However, honorary president Uli Hoeness insists the player is not available. “He can look at Olise with five eyes if he wants, but it will be of no use,” Hoeness told the media via Marca. “He’s going to stay, he’s not for sale and Mourinho could have saved the trip from Madrid.”
Olise has attracted attention after an excellent season. The France international scored 22 goals and provided 26 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly a keen admirer of the 23-year-old. The Spanish giants want to strengthen their attack on the right side.
But Bayern refuse to negotiate. It has also emerged that Mourinho was not scouting at all. According to Marca, the Portuguese coach attended the final as part of commercial and advertising commitments with Adidas.
A summer transfer now looks impossible. Bayern’s firm stance means any deal would require an enormous fee that Real Madrid are unlikely to pay.
