Liverpool FC have stepped up their pursuit of Hertha BSC prodigy Kennet Eichhorn, according to Sky Germany. Transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that the Premier League side have already engaged in talks regarding the youngster’s future.
The 16-year-old defensive midfielder intends to depart the Berlin-based club during the upcoming summer window. His current deal features a release clause estimated at between €10 million and €12 million.
Nevertheless, an immediate switch to Anfield is not possible. Due to regulations concerning his age, Eichhorn cannot finalise a move to England until he turns 18. This delay means the earliest he could join the Reds is in 2026.
The Merseyside outfit face serious competition from within Germany. Bayern Munich have also registered their interest in recent weeks and could challenge Liverpool for the highly-rated talent.
Despite missing several matches this term due to an ankle injury, Eichhorn has featured in 17 second-tier fixtures. He has scored one goal during those appearances.
