Thomas Meunier is preparing to leave Lille OSC at the end of the campaign. The experienced defender will not sign a new deal with the Ligue 1 side.

The Belgium international moved to the French club two years ago. He arrived on a free transfer after leaving Turkish team Trabzonspor. During his time at the club, he established himself as a regular starter under former manager Bruno Genesio.

Last season, the full-back featured in 35 matches across all competitions. He found the net twice and provided three assists for his team-mates. His form often kept talented youngster Tiago Santos on the substitutes’ bench.

Meunier’s exit comes shortly after the club confirmed Bruno Genesio has also left his position. The coach departed on Monday.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 34-year-old will now search for a new team. Unlike most modern players, Meunier does not employ an agent. He will personally negotiate with interested clubs over his next move.
