Paris Saint-Germain have signalled their willingness to pay the full €125 million asking price for Julian Alvarez. The French champions have informed Atletico Madrid they can meet the valuation for the Argentine forward. Representatives from the Ligue 1 side have also opened discussions with the player’s camp.
The potential deal depends partly on the future of Goncalo Ramos. The Portugal international has struggled to adapt to Luis Enrique’s tactical approach this season. He has rarely started in high-profile matches and looks set to leave the club. Several sides have already expressed interest in acquiring the former Benfica man.
Despite PSG’s strong financial position, Alvarez reportedly favours a move to Barcelona. The Catalan giants cannot raise the necessary funds to satisfy Atletico’s demands. Arsenal also possess the resources to complete the transfer. The North London club remain undecided about committing such a large portion of their budget to one signing. They are simultaneously negotiating with Aston Villa over a move for Morgan Rogers.
Atletico Madrid maintain a firm stance on their valuation. The Spanish club consider the 26-year-old essential to their future plans and will resist any approach unless the release clause is activated in full.
