Spanish club Elche must search for a new manager after Eder Sarabia announced his sudden departure. The coach leaves the Estadio Martínez Valero just days after ensuring the team avoided relegation from La Liga.

Sarabia revealed his decision during an emotional meeting with journalists. He explained that personal matters, not problems with the club’s leaders, caused his exit. The 44-year-old wants to spend more time with his wife and two young children.

“It is a very demanding job,” Sarabia stated. “You forget about important things like family. My wife and I decided this on Sunday. We made the choice with clear minds.”

The manager arrived at Elche two years ago after achieving promotion with Andorra. Last season, he led Elche to the Segunda División title. This campaign, he kept the club in the top division despite their limited financial resources.

Elche secured their safety with a 1-1 result away to Girona on the last day of the season. The point was enough to maintain their La Liga position for another year.

Sarabia will not join another team immediately. He plans to rest for several months before considering a return to the dugout. His work at Elche has increased his reputation across Spanish football. Several clubs may show interest when he decides to work again.

The coach praised his players and the improvements at the stadium during his time at the club. He expressed eternal thanks to everyone at Elche for their support over the past two seasons.
