Liverpool have stopped Juventus from signing Alisson Becker. The Premier League club have told the Serie A side that the Brazilian goalkeeper will stay at Anfield next season.
Football reporter Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool have spoken directly to the player. They have confirmed that Alisson will remain part of the squad.
Earlier stories suggested the keeper might leave. Juventus wanted him for the 2026-27 season. But the English club has now decided to keep him.
This is a blow for Juventus. The Italian team must now look for other goalkeepers. They had hoped to sign Alisson to replace Michele Di Gregorio.
Romano also says Giorgi Mamardashvili could go out on loan. The Georgian goalkeeper recently joined Liverpool but may spend next season at another club. Italian sources say Juventus and Inter Milan were interested in taking him.
Juventus might now try to sign David De Gea instead. The Spanish goalkeeper plays for Fiorentina. Reports in Italy suggest he is an option for the Turin club.
