AC Monza will play in Serie A next season after winning promotion from Serie B. The club earned their place in the top division through the play-offs on Friday night.
Monza faced Catanzaro in the final. They won the first match 2-0 at home. However, they lost the away leg 2-0 on Friday. With the total score level at 2-2, Monza went through because they finished higher in the league table. The club ended the campaign in third position, while Catanzaro finished fifth.
The team from Lombardy will return to the top flight after just one year away. Monza dropped down to Serie B last season but have come straight back up.
The side reached the final by beating Catanzaro in the semi-finals earlier this month. They drew the first leg 2-2 away from home before winning the second leg 2-1.
Monza will join Venezia and Frosinone in Serie A next term. Venezia won the Serie B title this season, with Frosinone finishing as runners-up.
The full list of teams for the 2026-27 Serie A season is now complete. The division will include: Atalanta, Bologna, Cagliari, Como, Fiorentina, Frosinone, Genoa, Inter Milan, Juventus, Lazio, Lecce, AC Milan, Monza, Napoli, Parma, Roma, Sassuolo, Torino, Udinese and Venezia.
