  • Adi Hütter is poised for a sensational return to Eintracht Frankfurt.
  • The Austrian boss previously led the club to the Europa League semi-finals between 2018 and 2021.
  • An official announcement could come as early as next week.
  • Hütter has been without a club since AS Monaco sacked him in October 2025.

Eintracht Frankfurt are close to hiring a new manager after sacking Albert Riera at the end of the 2025/26 season. The German side want Adi Hütter to return as head coach.

Reports from Kicker suggest the 56-year-old Austrian is the favourite for the job. While some small contract issues remain, both sides hope to reach an agreement soon.

If talks go well, the club could announce Hütter’s return at the start of next week. He previously managed Eintracht from 2018 to 2021 and took them to the Europa League semi-finals in his first year.

After leaving Frankfurt, Hütter joined Borussia Mönchengladbach and later AS Monaco. The French club dismissed him in October 2025.
