Eintracht Frankfurt have confirmed that Adi Hütter will return to the club as head coach. The 56-year-old Austrian will start his new role on 1 July 2026.

The Bundesliga side announced the appointment on Thursday morning. Hütter has agreed to a three-year deal that runs until 30 June 2029.

This marks a second spell at the Deutsche Bank Park for the experienced manager. He previously led the Eagles between 2018 and 2021.

During his first stint, Hütter guided Frankfurt to the Europa League semi-finals. His side won all six group stage matches in that competition.

In 2019, the team also reached the DFB-Pokal semi-finals. They secured European qualification again in the 2020-21 campaign.

After leaving Frankfurt, Hütter spent one season at Borussia Mönchengladbach. He then moved to French outfit AS Monaco in Ligue 1.

Markus Krösche, the club’s sporting director, welcomed the appointment. He praised Hütter’s attacking style and discipline.

“Adi represents brave, forward-thinking football,” Krösche stated. He noted the manager’s ability to mix quick counter-attacks with possession play.

Krösche also highlighted Hütter’s recent work at Monaco. There, he developed one of the division’s youngest squads.

The director added that Hütter knows the club’s structure well. This means he will not need time to settle in.

“We had honest talks,” Krösche explained. “Adi showed great passion for this project.”
