Manchester United are preparing to welcome Ederson to Old Trafford. The Brazilian midfielder will join from Atalanta. However, the exact transfer fee remains unclear.
Famous journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that United will pay between €40 million and €45 million. This is lower than other estimates.
Italian media sources suggest the total cost will reach €48 million to €50 million. This figure includes performance bonuses. Reporters like Alfredo Pedullà believe the base fee is €45 million with extra payments added.
Atalanta originally demanded €50 million. They have reduced this price. The Serie A club bought Ederson from Salernitana in 2022. They paid only €22.9 million for him. So they will still make a large profit.
Last year, Atalanta wanted more money for the player. But his contract expires in June 2027. For this reason, they agreed to negotiate.
The midfielder turns 27 years old in July. He has played for the Brazil national team. United beat Atletico Madrid to sign him. The Spanish club had agreed personal terms with Ederson. But they would not match Atalanta’s asking price. United offered more money. Now the deal is nearly complete.
